Town Hall. Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg

Summary

Due to its location, south of StraubingerstraBe, the new Town Hall is seen as an autonomous volume in the landscape, in the center of the plot, open to all four orientations. The position of the building divides the space of the plot into differentiated spaces, placing the access in the east, in the extension of BurkhartstraBe.

The program is organized on the two floors of the building around the central atrium. Between the functional bands, empty spaces are released that generate entrance porches on the ground floor and terraces on the first floor. A central skylight completes the openings in the building’s facades, with a square floor plan, towards natural light and views of the surroundings. The earthy colored concrete of the ground floor plinth and the pre-patinated copper of the upper volumes are materials that blend with the tones of the nearby landscape.
